Good afternoon!

The Ubuntu folks SHOULD care about floppies. The technology still exists and
is still "out there" whether or not everybody uses it or likes it. Floppies
are an excellent "small" piece of technology as long as (like every thing
else) the user uses good quality name brand products.

Floppies can be used for dragging around small pieces of info like:
i) utilities that diagnose older hardware
ii) deb files -- I've been known to feed my offline Linux boxes with debs
downloaded from my online machines using floppies, why burn a CD-RW for
smbclient?
iii) 360 page text files

I personally don't think that Ubuntu should be pursuing a development model
that includes ignoring useful, existing, tried-tested-and-true technology
without some input from all the users who support it.

Hey Ubuntu, I wanna buy a DVD burner. Ya gonna ignore that on the next
release?
