X Server error

I've installed Ubuntu 5.10 "The Breezy Badger" on my new Toshiba laptop.

Everything worked fine and the installation process finished ok but
when I've tried to start Ubuntu I get an error message saying that X
could not be loaded (something about some symbols not found for my
videocard).
The card is a ATi Radeon Xpress 200M  with 128 MB UMA (whatever that means). :)
