gtranscode: fails to install, transcode being a nonexistant dependency

Package: gtranscode
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable
Upon apt-get install gtranscode, apt-get told me that
transcode, a gtranscode dependency, was an install candidate
that did not exist as of yet and that I should report this
as an bug. So I did! Apt-cache showpkg reveals that something
named transcode is in the package database, but yet it cannot
be installed. Did somebody forget to make transcode available?
Please, I need to split some avi-files soon ;-)
