How to edit PDF?

I really wish people would stop posting things they apparently have no idea
about. The whole idea behind PDF is a "Portable Document Format" (go
figure). The MAIN idea behind pdf is that it should display/print the same
everywhere (this isn't true in all cases, but was the intention) for desktop
publishing.
Adobe's Acrobat is a PDF editor/creator etc. There ARE pdf libraries out
there (cpdf) that will create/edit pdfs but there (apparently) hasn't been a
lot of software with it implemented.

people think they're not for editing because
a) its expensive to purchase adobe's software.
b) 99% of people only see PDFs as manuals etc that, as an end user, have no
need to edit.
