Oh no! It's much more serious than that - it's a *conspiracy* between
the kubuntu team and the xubuntu team, to take over our hearts and
minds!!
This happened *twice* to me - first I installed the kubuntu-desktop
package, and was confronted by a *shudder* kubuntu bootsplash...
Fortunately I knew what to do (see below).
Just when I thought I was
safe, the *same* thing happened after installing xubuntu-desktop! But
this time I got a "Xubuntu" boot splash.
This is what you should do, immediately! Think of the possible
consequences for your family, children, and all of humanity if you do
not!
########### De-Propagandising Procedure ##########
1) Make a tinfoil hat to protect yourself from the evil mind-influence
of these people, who want to control you and impose their evil designs
on your machine.
(Put it on straight away -
you never know what might happen if you don't do this !)
2) sudo apt-get remove --purge kubuntu-artwork-usplash
( or
xubuntu-artwork-usplash if that branch of the cabal has got to your
machine instead)
3) sudo dpkg-reconfigure linux-image-$(uname -r)
4) Reboot, to make *sure* that all propaganda has been successfully
removed, and that you are back to the friendly *brown* Ubuntu we all
know, love and trust.
Actually steps 2) and 3) should be enough, but given the obviously
insidious plot behind this move, I suggest you consider your personal
safety and implement 1) and 4) as well.
</tinfoil hat>
