Bootable RAID 1 array with Hoary?

I don't know. But LILO can, of that I am certain, as I use it. (Standard
precompiled kernel with initrd)
Here are the relevant entries from my lilo.conf:
boot=/dev/md0
root=/dev/md0
raid-extra-boot=/dev/hdb,/dev/hdc
/dev/md0 is 2x78GB a raid1 array using /dev/hdb1 and /dev/hdc1.
The raid-extra-boot is the clincher here; it tells lilo these disks form
part of an array and BOTH need boot records.
