dclib error

i have been trying to install valknut-0.3.7 for a while now on my ubuntu
5.04 amd64 bit version...the problem has been that valknut keeps
complaining that dclib is either not found(when installing valknut from
source) or it says that the current version is older than needed(when
installing valknut from deb package)..all this after i install dclib-0.3.7
from source over and over again.. i even tried uninstalling the current
version of dclib (dclib0-0.3.2) and then install the newer one..but thats
of no avail..can someone help me out?

errors i get:-
when installing valknut from source:-
configure: error: DCLIB must be installed. Use --with-libdc=<path> to set
correct path.

(i tried puttin dclib in a specific location like /usr/lib instead of the
default location and then tell valknut to look for dclib there but still,
iget the same error)

when installing from deb package:-(after removing libdc0-0.3.2)
Unpacking valknut (from valknut_0.3.7-1_amd64.deb) ...
dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of valknut:
 valknut depends on libdc0 (<< 0.3.7-99); however:
  Package libdc0 is not installed.

 valknut

is it possible for someone to make a deb package of libdc 0.3.7 which i
can try installing? i have searched all over but not found a deb package
for this one...only tar.bz2's and tar.gz's..
