will ubuntu know my printer?

i was thinking the same, though none of the MP* printers seem to be 
supported yet
i thought i might take a stab in the dark and try a heap of drivers and 
see if any of them work
BTW, should i be able to print from the live ubuntu if the printer is 
supported?
