has anyone used TurboPrint?

hello all
i've been posting here trying to find a way to get my printer to work
many have recommended TurboPrint
i was hesitant because i though you had to buy it
turn out, its only the full version that you have to pay for
there is a free version
only the free version is limited, namely to the print resolution

does anyone know how high of a resolution the free version will print 
too?
