The hostap driver seems to have been added to the kernel (very good
decision!) but without any mechanism to get it activated at install.

Furthermore there are some weird messages and malfunctioning when the
hostap driver is activated, for example:

#iwlist eth1 scan
#Warning: Driver for device eth1 recommend version 18 of Wireless Extension,
#but has been compiled with version 17, therefore some driver features
#may not be available...
#
#eth1      No scan results

Using the (self compiled) hostap drivers under Hoary the same command
shows 3 acces points.
And what to make of the 'Wireless Extension' warning?

What will be the status of the hostap drivers in Breezy Gold.
