I don't know if the hostap driver really works (well) with the
Truemobile (pci?). But if you want to try it I would suggest going to
http://hostap.epitest.fi/ and downloading the hostap-driver tarball.
The hostap-modules you see in synaptic is for an older kernel (2.4.6).
Hoary uses a 2.6.x kernel so you can't use this module under Hoary!
I downloaded and compiled 'hostap-driver-0.2.6.tar.gz' under hoary
without problems and it works perfectly, also scanning and monitoring.
You could try the newer version '0.3.9' though this gave me compile
problems when it was a 'development release'.
(Read the enclosed README with regard to 'pci' cards).
I would NOT advice you to use the standard debian/ubuntu procedure
for downloading source from the repo using tools like for example
'module-assistant' to compile. This bogs down in problems.
