gnome weirdness after running for a while

List,
Just out of curiosity, does anyone else experience a little bit of
weirdness in Gnome (2.12.1, Breezy) after it has been running for a
while? In particular, what I am referring to is that certain programs
(usually settings type programs) won't open.
More concretely, say I am trying to run gnome-theme-manager. When I
start it the "normal" way a la the System->Preferences menu, the
window list bar lists "Starting Theme Manager" for a few seconds, with
nothing coming up, then the window list item disappears. If I try to
run gnome-theme-manager from the command line, absolutely nothing
happens: No errors, no segfaults, no warnings; literally, nothing.
This only tends to happen if Gnome has been running for a while (read:
A couple of days or more). Is this a 2.12 bug, or is it something
else?
This really isn't a major issue, just a slight annoyance as I hate
having to restart X for such a trivial issue.
Mike
