Root password??? Yes you can know the passwoed!!!

No, it's not a loophole, it's what you get when someone has physical 
access to the computer. All pcs with all OSs work like this, and it's 
a good thing - you'd have to do it if a disgruntled employee changed 
all the root passwords on all machines then walked off the premises 
for example.
