Totem decoders

TOTEM Media Player, due to legal reasons, does not play media well by  
default installation.
go to the package manager called Synaptic. if asked for a password, use  
your user-password.
search for totem. deinstall totem-gestreamer. install totem-xine (good for  
all kind of Multimedia Files).
also install xine-ui (good for all kind of Video Disks). some additional  
packages and especially
restricted formats will still be missing. please check out the links  
below. of you have problems,
please ask again, and tell what you have done so far.
