They were, but the point is that they have working touchpads - follow their
advice (also, I suspect yours is an ALPS: "grep alps /var/log/Xorg.0.log" -
if so, read /usr/share/doc/xserver-xorg-input-synaptics/README.alps. If
you don't have that then your problem is that you don't have the synaptics
driver installed!)
