I probably forgot to mention that ifup/ifdown works normally after the
boot, it only hangs at the boot. I haven't tried building the initrd
image, that's the only thing I haven't tried yet. Adding the module
to /etc/modules didn't help at all.

But I'll try to see if that gives any output at all... Maybe I just
should modify the script so that it writes everything to a file at the
boot...
