I usually have my sound set to full volume on my laptop. That's what I
want at home, but I'm often in shared computing space so when I boot up my
machine and log in for the first time I get quite a bit of noise coming
out of it. I've gone into System->Preferences->Sound and turned of the
login sound, but it still being played.
Is there some trick to getting the login to be quiet that I'm missing?
Thanks.
