Synaptic installs not installed

Only twice? Gee it happens with every second install to me. They DO
generally end up on the appropriate path though, so you can add them via
browsing. Try "which <program-name>", or "locate <some-file>" if you
know anything about the installed item. You may need to refresh the
locate database (/etc/cron.daily/slocate) to use locate.

Remind ends up in /usr/bin after install. I don't think it's a graphical
thing though, so running it off a menu probably makes no sense (well, in
a terminal, I suppose). Read "man remind" to get the idea. You might
like to try kalarm instead (which works OK under Gnome, BTW).
