By your simplistic view, I think you just proved that you're not a
teacher. Jean and I have tried to explain that there are different types
of documentation that make different trade-offs and are geared towards
different audiences. The level of detail and writing style of man pages
is not approproate for this case. Just like nobody asks you to learn
Quantum Mechanics to use a computer, you are satisfied with a simplified
understanding of how electricity works.

You already have a body of knowledge that allows you to read man pages
and benefit from them in a way that a new user wouldn't be. Just like
you wouldn't teach English using a dictionary, but once you are
proficcient in English a dictionary is a useful tool even for words that
you've never heard before. You could use the same argument you just
posed to say "well, when I don't know a word I use a dictionary, so we
should teach English using a dictionary instead of a textbook".
