upgrade or clean installation?

I think the 'problem' of having some empty or unused folders or (config)
files around is largely a psychological one on the part of the user and
in no way hinders Ubuntu.

It's the same with people going for colonic irrigation treatment; it's
not really benefitial for anything except on a psychological level, the
thought of being all clean again. :)

Even the way the subject line is worded suggests this: "CLEAN
installation", as if the current one somehow got 'dirty'....
