I think not - the bug's already there upstream, and I don't want to
overburden launchpad with known bugs. Unless it's appropriate to file a
bug on Launchpad, with the related link to upstream?

Sure, but saying that NetworkManager works "as designed" without users
having any way to know what that consists of is a bit flippant.

It's working _fairly_ well for me - well enough that I _am_ filing bugs and
trying to work out the technicalities. I'm convinced it's the future of
network configuration. If I could only figure out what I need to do to get
it to automatically associate with my wireless router.
