Can't record audio using Intel ICH6--Realtek ALC260

Sorry.  That's what I had meant when I said that I had unmuted 
everything in the original post.  Sorry if I came across as a abrupt or 
rude.  I guess I need to express myself a bit more clearly.  I have the 
appropriate capture devices and microphone, etc. unmuted in the mixer.  
The problem is that I don't know how to diagnose the problem.  Sound 
seems to be working great for playback.  Apps don't seem to have any 
trouble sharing the sound device.  Just capture doesn't work.  If you 
could give me an idea of what commands to run to run to diagnose what's 
happening, that would be great.
