IPP printers don't work with CUPS after update?

I have the same problem with my Samsung ML-1520. It is connected through
usb to my desktop, and my laptop is connected to the desktop with a
cross cable. After the latest upgrade I haven't been able to print from
the laptop. Sending something to the printer resulted in the printing of
an error page. I have found a workaround for this problem in the forums,
i.e. I put a client.conf file in /etc/cups with the line > ServerName <my print server> and restarted cupsys. Before this I made a little test. With the
printer turned off, I send the same pdf file for printing from the
laptop and the desktop, then looked at /var/spool/cups. I noticed that
the temporary files are different. The local one is the same pdf file I
sent for printing, the remote one is identified by "file" as "HP Printer
Job Language data".
