MCP51 AC97 on-board sound worked when I installed Ubuntu, then stopped!

Bizarrely, `modprobe -v -r snd_intel8x0` followed a minute later by
`modprobe -v snd_intel8x0` fixed the problem.

I suspect it might have been some interference caused by briefly
plugging in a USB webcam (Logitech 4000) --- is that plausible?
