Gnome desktop fails to start after login (NEW DISCOVERY)

Hello,



I have the same problem, I can't get the GNOME desktop to show up after
login. I'm new with Ubuntu, so please bear with me.



I've got Ubuntu running on a G3 Mac Powerbook (Wallstreet). I noticed
this issue after I booted up the computer and changed the display fonts
for the terminal and desktop. After that, no love. I can get a login
screen and I can toggle to the command line.



So, I'm wondering if it might have something to do with font display.
Just a thought. I'll keep looking, and good luck.
