Sadly, this problem still hasn't been confirmed.

If you can endure with the so-called safe mode graphics, you can switch to the vesa driver by modifying /etc/X11/xorg.conf (probably line 102) and then reboot(or restart gdm). Although it's a lot slower and consumes much more CPU cycles, it's not too bad for LCD users actually.
