Hi,
Just on a sidenote, why did you disable your internal modem in your BIOS?
If your PCMCIA modem card turns out to fail with Linux, you could give your
internal Modem another try.

As I understand, you can even test the drivers for free (at 14,4kbps) before
paying $15 to connexant to get full modem speed.
