I have a HP TC1100 and had Breezy running on it. Now it is running
Dapper. Both were fresh installed, no upgrade. I can tell that getting
my touch screen working under Dapper was far from difficult.

Can you tell us the brand and model of yours ? Maybe this will help us
to provide more help.
