The scripts that get executed when you suspend and resume are in
directories /etc/acpi/suspend.d and /etc/acpi/resume.d. Any script you
put inside those files will get executed at the appropriate time. Part
of what should be done is bring the network down on suspend, and restart
it on resume. I'm surprised that those directories don't have the stuff
you need already, but it's a place to start looking. Maybe the commands
are there, but are failing for some reason.
