You can find information in the help system, too:
Go to System->Help->System Documentation, then in the search box type "serpentine".
As it explains in there, normally, when you insert a blank CD in your drive, you should see a window that explicaztely asks you if you want to burn a DATA Cd, or AUDIO CD... didn't you see this dialog ???
