Hello,

I encounter serveral problems wuth audio un Kubuntu dapper.

The main sound card is embeded in the motherboard and is what I connect
to speakers:
0000:00:1f.5 Multimedia audio controller: Intel Corporation 82801EB/ER
(ICH5/ICH5R) AC'97 Audio Controller (rev 02)
and use snd_intel8x0

Alternativally I plug an usb audio headset for voip (namely TeamSpeak):
Plantronics Headset
Manufacturer: Plantronics
Serial Number: 00050-0504044410003-V060000D
Speed: 12Mb/s (full)
USB Version: 1.10
Device Class: 00(>ifc )
and use snd-usb-audio

Problem 1:
If I keep the USB headset plugged at boot time, it become the main audio
device and the internal ICH5 audio controler is not enabled.

How do I make sure the internel audio controler is always loaded as
first audio device and that still allow the usb headset as hotpluggable
audio device ?

Problem 2:
If I launch kmix befire the USB headset is plugged, then I can not
access mixer components from the USB headset from kmix. Kmix don't show
an option to select the mixer. I have to stop completly kmix, plug in
the usb headset then relaunch Kmix.

Is there a way I can have Kmix aware of hot-pluggable audio devices/mixers ?

The USB headset is not always plugged; Sometimes I need it, sometimes it
is needed elswhere. That is the purpose of a pluggable device after all :)

Any help appreciated.
