Thanks, but my point was that there seems to be nothing in the queue
and so no job to be removed.
lprm simply responds:
lprm: Unable to cancel job(s)!
I also tried restarting cupsys, but that had no effect.

so killing these processes will presumably work, but there must be a
simpler way, surely. Or is this indicative of a bug in something? The
original problem arose from trying to print from Gimp.
