Installing kubuntu on a HP zd8000

I've got a zd8290 and saw the same issue.

It's to do with using the framebuffer on install.

You can do a safe install by disabling the framebuffer for the debian
installer. It's in the options on boot, but if I recall correctly:

linux debian-installer/framebuffer=false
