Ports below 1000, by community concensus, have fixed assignments, such
as port 80 = HTTP, port 22 = telnet, etc.

Ports above 1000 are in theory free for any application to use, but a
few have common associations, such as 6346 = Gnutella. This is just
background information and has no immediate bearing on your particular
situation.

If you hare still having problems, please (re)read the page in the
amule wiki I referred you to earlier in this thread. All the
information you need is there.
