It doesn't. I work around it by minimizing everything to taskbar that I
don't expect to use before switching back, and first maximizing, then
minimizing to taskbar everything I do expect to use while at less than
my initial size; all of which is pretty much the same as doze requires
of those who not infrequently need to switch resolution.
