Thanks! That did it -- it was because I upgraded my kernel, but not
the kernel headers for my nVidia driver. It was good enough for most
stuff, but there were a few glx errors in my X.org.log, so I
reinstalled the driver (which recompiled the headers for the new
kernel) and hey presto!
