Billy:
It sounds like the old Zoom Model 2919 that I've had since '98. It's 
currently installed on a backup computer running Mandrake 10.1. Just as 
you've done, I did the rejumpering when I first tried Linux (RedHat 
5.?). In the old days, it was always detected at installation and no 
further configuration was necessary. Somewhere along the line -- perhaps 
with the 2.4 kernel, it became necessary to add a soft link between 
/dev/ttyS1 and /dev/modem to get it to work.
