If anyone here has any ties to Gimp I'd encourage them to encourage
Gimp to add the Photoshop keyboard shortcuts to Gimp as an option
(and, not one where you have to program EACH AND EVERY short cut
yourself... I only changed the ones I used most frequently).
It seems that Gimp and Gimpshop are nearly the same beast. On OS X I
recently downloaded Gimp.app (a Mac OS X compiled version of Gimp that
has all the dependencies built-in) and Gimpshop (ditto as for
Gimp.app).
After I ran the little application that came with Gimpshop to update
the keyboard settings for Gimpshop, I also discovered that Gimp.app
now functioned with Photoshop shortcuts.
PS Does anyone know how to program the delete/backspace keys to
actually DELETE a selection?
It's not possible to reassign the keystroke in the preferences pane
for Gimp/Gimpshop since forward or backwards delete both clear the
keystroke -- they can't actually be assigned :-( :-( :-(
Eric.
