udev permission problem - dvd-ram mounts only read/writeable for root

I just successfully installed an external USB DVD writer under Breezy.
When I insert a CD or DVD it works as expected.
When i insert a DVD-RAM I got permission problems. I can not access it
as a normal user. (770 root:root)
If I open a root terminal, I can write and read normally, i.e. it's a
permission problem.
"mount" shows that the disc is mounted as /dev/scd0 - i.e. via a SCSI
emulation (it's an USB drive)?
(I also have an internal IDE DVD writer with DVD-RAM capabilities, which
works normally.)
/dev/scd0 has the permission brw-rw---- root:cdrom
(I am a member of the group cdrom)
The mount point is:
/media/cdrecorder drwxrwx--- root:root
Which seems to be the problem.
Anybody knows where to tweak the settings? I presume somewhere in /etc/udev.
