(O)OT samba 2000 auth

Hi all,

This is OT - I have setup samba on ubuntu and it works great. I logged onto my 
wifes 2000 machine, 'computers near me', 'dave' and was asked for a 'log on 
as' and a 'password'

I enter these and I am linked :)

However when I re-boot I have to re-log on with user & password. I believe on 
my XP work laptop I could make the system remember the user & password and 
also map a drive to access my shares directly. XP laptop not here at present.

Is there a way to do this in 2000 ?
