problem of broadcom wireless LAN device on my laptop (Real WinD)

I also have this problem. I've read that drivers for WLANcards are not 
always available in linux env. This because many WLANcard have not a 
hardware lock, so, in theory, if you manage to "drive the driver", you 
are able to scan frequencies that are NOT allowed (i.e., police radio 
frequencies). I've also tried to use ndiswrapper (that implements a 
translation of the driver provided for Windows), but the problem 
persists. The WLAN led on my laptop is off now. I manage to create an 
ad-hoc link, but I can't lock any infrastructured link. HELP US!!!
I'm a WLANed student too!!! :-D
