Hi Lea!
What I have been considering for the joystick possibility is to
"electrically hack" how one works (look at the standard, design circuitry
which would be compatable, be happy). It is a good idea and I very much
appreciate the reference to the connecting software.
I am also considering using the paralell port (printer port). Probably a
better choice for me since I would start with used and very limited
computers to get the ball rolling.
I certianly have run across a lot of people who would wish to sell me thier
hardware solution (see http://www.bb-elec.com/ and look for serial data
acquistion for example - or simply google computer data acquisition). I
have used the B&B modules in my carrier as a broadcast technician and had
excellent results controlling satellite recievers and broadcast transmitters
and gathering signal strength data. But this is kind of a "hobby project"
with big dreams.
Many thanks for your help!
Tod
