There are certainly more appropriate ways to go about improving the process.

Live CD persistence is still experimental and as such it should not
and is not enabled by default since it may not always work.
Suggestions for improvements are always welcome. Please feel free to
open a bug in Malone describing your suggestions and it will be marked
as a wish list item.
