Few questions before I try to install Ubuntu

hi,
1) generally it is to say, that Ubuntu Installation will autodetect the
free partition and will also find a place to create Swap automaticaly. no
manual partitioning needed.
when it comes to partitioning in the Installation Process you always
should have a close look what will be done. before you answer the last
question before the final partitioning process with Yes.

2) as far as i know and see on my machine, you need for Ubuntu more than
2.7 GB or even the 1.7 GB you mentioned. stay with the 5GB and have a
close look that Ubuntu takes that Partition during installation.
3) Ubuntu uses GRUB. Windows will get autodetected and finally you will
have a Dual-Boot-Menu at Bootup.
