installing USB extigy sound card > update, kind of working

I went ahead and its kind of working, only at very low volume level.

I found a thread describing a fix>

only im unsure of this bit:

Blacklisting the module "audio" fixed my extigy

sudo echo "audio" >> /etc/hotplug/blacklist.d/myblacklist

ERIC> what is the audio bit? how do I find out what to put in there?
