busybox initramfs creation broken on dapper?

Hello all,

I'm not sure if this is a known issue, but installing a kernel (custom
.deb made with make-kpkg) on dapper produced an unusuable initramfs
image. At boot I got thrown to a shell with the message:

depmod: not found

When in fact this file was in /sbin/depmod. Trying to execute that by
hand by typing "/sbin/depmod -a" gave me the same error.

Just a few notes, I have used the exact same kernel package in other
box and it worked fine. Though that box is not using initramfs
ramdisk's to boot.

For now I set BUSYBOX=n in /etc/mkinitramfs/initramfs.conf; but, I
would love to put it back on as soon as I can get it to work (again).
I really like the idea behind using busybox this way (I come from an
embedded Linux background as I have been using a Sharp Zaurus for a
while).

After that, the system boot up just fine. (And Xgl rocks in this box!!)
