Bill,

In Linux, everything is part of the same file system. All of it goes from
the root ("/") on down.

So let's say I have a FAT32 partition that is /dev/hda3. I want to mount it
to /mnt/shared, /windows, or /mnt/drived or any other place in the file
system that I can easily remember.

Then, whenever I want to use files in that part of the file system, I change
the current directory/folder to that location and navigate down to the
section I want.

Does that answer your question?

(In more detail, the /etc/fstab file should have information about all the
drives you have access to in your system and where they are mounted.
Including the floppy and cdrom.)
