Cloneing OS & GRUB trouble

Clarify "nothing"?

A completely black/blank screen? That would indicate your BIOS is 
trying to boot from some other device, or you think the 160G drive is 
the primary master but you are mistaken (you may have plugged it into 
the secondary cable for example)

A grub screen with nothing on it? That would indicate menu.lst exists 
but is empty

No menu but you do get a grub shell? Normally this comes from stage1_5 
being loaded from the boot sector, and grub can't find it's files 
(usually because of partition naming errors).

What is your partition layout, and is boot it's own partition, or part 
of /?
