I recently bought a Biostar TForce 6100-939 and an AMD
Athlon 64 4000+, it's happily running Kubuntu 64-bit
using the onboard graphics with the Nvidia 8174
driver.  

Note, the default nv driver does not yet support the
onboard 6100 graphics, so X doesn't run on initial
install, but you want to install the Nvidia driver
anyway.

If you plan to install 64-bit OS then make sure 64-bit
drivers are available.
