I installed the dapper daily from 7th Jan (i also tried with flight 2
and have the same problem).
The install seems to go fine - the packages are installed onto my
partitioned drive etc, when it reboots for the first time to continue
installing the packages grub shows up fine. When I select Ubuntu it
prints the following:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Booting command-list
root(hd1,0)
Filesystemtype is ext2fs, partition type 0x83
kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.15-8-386 root=/dev/hdb1 ro quiet splash
[Linux-bzImage, setup=0x100, size=0x1534ad]
initrd /boot/initrd.img-2.6.15-8-386
[Linux-initrd at 0x1fa95000,0x55a218 bytes]
savedefault
boot
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is the point at which it would normally go off and unpack the
initrd and boot my system but noting happens at all it just sits there
with a blinking cursor.
I have tried specifying things such as noapic, nolapic and acpi=off
but this doesnt help as it hasnt even loaded my kernel at this point
to pass anything too.
Can anybody help? I have been trying to fix this for the last 10 hours!
I think I want to cry :(
Tom
